We are looking for an inspiring and experienced Head of People to shape the next chapter of our people strategy, employee experience, and global People operations. This hybrid role is based in Vancouver, BC, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. As a highly influential leader, you will partner closely with executive and senior leaders to connect our global business priorities with the leadership, capabilities, culture, and organizational structure needed for sustainable growth. You will lead the delivery of People programs and operations across our global organization, ensuring a consistent and exceptional employee experience while supporting the unique needs of teams in Vancouver, Santiago, Peru, and other locations worldwide. You will have the opportunity to set direction, strengthen how we lead and work together, build scalable and practical people practices, and drive operational excellence across the employee lifecycle. Responsibilities

As Head of People, you will have the opportunity to:

Shape People Strategy & Influence the Business

Own and evolve the enterprise People strategy roadmap, and operating priorities in alignment with the company’s business strategy.

Act as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leaders on global workforce initiatives, leadership, culture, and employee matters.

Lead strategic workforce and organization planning globally, including capability needs, succession risks, organization design, and translate enterprise priorities into clear People goals and accountabilities.

Provide the people lens on major business decisions by identifying organizational opportunities and risks.

Build alignment across leaders and functions, resolve cross-functional roadblocks, and advocate for the resources required to deliver the people agenda.

Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities to optimize people practices.

Maintain current knowledge of human resources practices, innovations, and emerging workplace trends.

Strengthen Culture, Leadership & Talent

Shape and steward MineSense’s culture by reinforcing our values and expected leadership behaviours through decisions, systems, and everyday practices.

Oversee global talent practices and strategy, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, succession, retention, and offboarding.

Lead enterprise approaches to leadership effectiveness, manager capability, employee listening, and organizational development.

Ensure compensation, benefits, recognition, and promotion practices to support internal equity, market competitiveness, performance, and sustainability.

Champion an inclusive, high-performing workplace where employees can contribute, develop, and be treated with dignity and consistency.

Lead complex organizational development and change initiatives through clear governance, stakeholder engagement, and measures of adoption.

Build Trusted, Scalable People Policies and Practices

Ensure reliable, scalable, and employee-centered People Operations across policies, systems, data, benefits interfaces, records, and employee support.

Establish governance, service standards, and decision rights for People processes and programs.

Oversee employee relations, workplace investigations, accommodations, leaves, performance matters, and terminations, engaging legal counsel when appropriate.

Maintain compliance with applicable employment, labour, human rights, privacy, health and safety, and pay transparency requirements.

Use workforce data and people analytics to identify trends, support decisions, and monitor organizational health.

Lead continuous improvement and appropriate automation to strengthen quality, consistency, controls, and employee experience.

Lead & Grow Global People Operations

Lead, coach, and develop the People team by setting a clear mandate, priorities, and standards.

Build the function’s global impact and operating models to meet current needs and support future growth across all locations.

Foster an environment of accountability, constructive challenge, collaboration, learning, and sound judgment.

Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships to deliver value and manage risk.

Ensure continuity, knowledge sharing, and succession within the People function.

Additional duties as occasionally required by your manager.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Generally, 10-12+ years of progressive People or Human Resources experience, including 6-8+ years of people leadership with direct partnership with executives.

Demonstrated breadth across people strategy, HR business partnering, talent management, organizational development, total rewards, employee relations, and people operations.

Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights, privacy, and related workplace obligations, with sound judgment about when specialist or legal advice is required.

Demonstrated ability to build credible relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and balance employee experience, risk, fairness, and business outcomes.

Ability to communicate in English; knowledge of Spanish is an asset.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or sensitive matters with clarity, discretion, empathy, and appropriate candour.

A self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, champion improvement opportunities, make deliberate trade-offs, and lead through unfamiliar, high-impact challenges.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HR technology. Experience with Bamboo HRIS, applicant tracking, performance management, and employee engagement platforms is an asset.

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.
